We’re live on the third row anxiously awaiting the start of the Smallville panel for the 8th season at Comic-Con.
In 10 minutes Jeph Loeb, Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Brian Peterson, Kelly Souders, Sam Witwer (Davis Bloome), Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen), Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), & Cassidy Freeman (Tess Mercer) will be taking the stage, with an exclusive trailer for season 8 and a special Q&A session.

The day has finally arrived! Our panel at Comic-Con is at 1pm (Pacific) 3pm (Eastern) in Room 24A. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of you there! We’re going to attempt (note the emphasis) to stream the video from our panel live to our front page via Ustream. I say attempt because the free WiFi at the convention center has been sketchy at best. We’ll give it a try, but in case it doesn’t work out–we’ll have the video on our feeds as soon as possible, probably later in the afternoon.

In preparation for Comic-Con, the latest episode of SHoE will be released Monday, featuring all the most recent Smallville news from the past two weeks, including some exclusive details about the 8th season premiere, a full look at all the new spoilers, and an in-depth look at Comic-Con with our own personal connoisseur Jason Spencer who will be answering questions that first timers to the convention may have about registration, different panels, and more. And, yes, Steve still isn’t going but continue to email in and make him feel guilty!

According to the newest issue of TV Guide magazine, Season 8 of Smallville will premiere September 18th! Dates have been known to move around a bit, so we will keep you posted should anything change. As of right now Smallville is only a little over two months away!
Update: During last night’s repeat of “Gemini”, the CW ran a logo announcing that Smallville’s 8th season would premiere on Thursday, October 2nd. We have yet to determine who is right here, though chances are good that the CW has the more legit date. While this means 3 more weeks without Smallville, it’s still a step in the right direction for new season news, so we’ll keep you posted. Thanks to all who wrote in with this detail.
***UPDATE*** The CW has confirmed that Smallville Season 8 will begin on September 18th. That’s less than 2 months away!
TV Guide has reported that the Justice League will be returning to Smallville this season, and earlier than you might have expected!
The season 8 premiere entitled “Odyssey” will feature not only Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, but also three returning special guests on a journey to find a lost friend.
